Extensive History

Hayami Oshiro is a Raen from Kugane. Born to Inosuke and Chieko, a pair of port traders who dabbled in exotic wares, Hayami became familiar with and developed a love for artifacts from an early age. What was unbeknownst to her, however, was that her parents didn't just trade relics. They were also deeply entangled in Kugane's underground crime scene.When Hayami was 7 years old, her parents were murdered by what were believed to be bandits, leaving her the only survivor. Now orphaned, and with no other next of kin, she was brought in by the priests of Mizusha, a shrine dedicated to Seiryu. For the next 12 years, Hayami would serve as a shrine maiden or miko, assisting in ceremonial rites and performances, and general maintenance of the grounds.During an assault on Mizusha by a band of thugs, Hayami was rescued by Harunobu Kurou, a Hingan lord, and his brother, Harushina, before the unthinkable happened. Mere days after the assault, Hayami assisted Harunobu and Harushina in a successful attack on the thugs' base, which led to the rescue of kidnapped maidens and the complete elimination of the threat.Following this, she was offered two choices by Harunobu: to return to her sheltered life or join him and live a life anew. Believing it to be the only way forward, Hayami decided to join the Kurou family and devote her time and energy to repaying them for their kindness.
